When I was eight, I had just moved to India from the USA and though I was terrified, so many things about this new country peaked my curiosity. Taking inspiration from this period of my life, “Days in Sylvan Heights”, is a collection of short stories and poems for kids, told through the lens of Avni, an energetic eight-year old who encounters challenges, makes new friends, and ultimately builds a sense of wonder and gratitude for the place and people around her.
